An agricultural region, also known as a farming region, is a geographical area that is primarily devoted to the cultivation and production of crops and livestock. Another synonym for agricultural region is a rural area, which refers to a region located outside of urban areas. Farmland is another synonym and specifically refers to areas of land that are intended for farming purposes. Other similar terms include green belts, which refer to areas of farmland and open space surrounding urban areas; food belt, which is a term that describes an area that provides a significant amount of food resources; and breadbasket, which refers to an area that produces large amounts of grain crops.
