Welcome

Two years after the celebration of the preceding Congress, we present its third edition with the aim of reviewing the different items which are related to sport and its furtherance among all sectors of citizens living in large European cities.

Starting from the evolution revealed in recent years, we want to offer a possibility for the exchange of information and to facilitate a debate where conclusions can be drawn and a common acting ground can be developed, with a prospective vision, valid until the year 2000.

Sport for all is important in the large cities where wide concentrations of richness, services and consumers interlace with dramatic social problems: youth unemployment, an endemic violence in human and social relationships, a spread reality of marginalization and loneliness.

This problem concerns also the recovery and the exploitation of the spaces, and not new cement flows. Thus the relation between sport for all and the large cities becomes a world-wide question of primary importance.
