Birth fathers, also known as biological fathers, are the biological parent of a child. However, there are also several synonyms for this term. Genetic father, natural father, and biological dad are all acceptable alternatives. Additionally, terms such as sperm donor or biological donor may be used if the father has donated his sperm to conceive a child through artificial insemination. In instances where the father has relinquished his rights to the child, he may also be referred to as a former father or relinquishing father.
