Bold fMRI, also known as blood oxygen level dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging, is a popular neuroimaging technique for studying brain activity. However, there are several synonyms for the term bold fMRI that can be used to describe this technique. These include functional MRI, fMRI, brain imaging, brain mapping, and neuroimaging. These terms are often used interchangeably and refer to the same methodology for examining brain function by measuring changes in blood flow in response to neural activity.
