The term "Dutch Belted" comes from the distinctive white belt that encircles the animal's midsection. However, there are various synonyms to describe this breed. In France, it is referred to as the "Holstein of the Low Countries," while in Germany, it is known as the "Bunte Hollander." In the United States, it is often called the "Oreo cow" or "panda cow" due to the black and white markings, while in the Netherlands, it is referred to as the "Lakenfelder" or "Lakenfields." Despite the different names, this breed is highly regarded for its milk production and its unique appearance.
