East Africa refers to the eastern region of the African continent that is situated near the Indian Ocean. It is sometimes referred to as the Horn of Africa, as it encompasses the easternmost point of the continent. Other synonyms for East Africa include the East African Community (EAC) region, which is made up of six countries: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and South Sudan.
