What is fancifulness? What creates it? Definitions abound, but the definition that resonates most with me is: "a quality that makes something appear more exciting, interesting, or attractive than it is." This is what makes something whimsical, magical, and just plain fun. The fancifulness of something can make it seem as if it could be real, as if it sprang from the imagination of a brilliant artist. It can be found in everything from the most mundane things to the most outrageous imaginations. It is what makes us dream, and it is what makes us delighted.
