Gigantosaurus, a prehistoric dinosaur species, was one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs to have ever existed. Though relatively well-known, synonyms for Gigantosaurus are not as commonly known. One such synonym is the Giganotosaurus, which is a close relative of the Gigantosaurus, and was also a large, predatory dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous Period. Other synonyms for Gigantosaurus include the Mapusaurus and the Tyrannotitan, both of which were equally large meat-eating dinosaurs.
