Indigenous American philosophy refers to the traditional beliefs, values, and practices of the indigenous people living in North America. However, there are various synonyms for this term, such as Native American philosophy, American Indian philosophy, and First Nations philosophy. These terms all describe the same body of philosophical thought, which emphasizes the importance of nature, community, and spirituality. These philosophies have been developed over centuries, and have been largely overlooked by Western philosophy. However, recent scholarship has begun to recognize the importance and contributions of indigenous philosophies, which offer unique perspectives on the world and our place in it.
