Internet addiction, also known as problematic internet use, refers to excessive use of the internet that interferes with daily life activities. There are several other synonyms for this term that describe similar conditions. For instance, cyber addiction is a term used to describe the excessive use of technology that can cause withdrawal symptoms when access to them is restricted. Digital addiction and technology addiction are also used interchangeably to describe the harmful behavior that comes with excessive use of technology devices such as mobile phones and laptops. Lastly, web addiction and online addiction are two other synonyms used for problematic internet use and dependance on online platforms.
