As times have changed, so has the terminology for those in the newspaper industry. The traditional "newspaperman-woman" can now also be referred to as a journalist, reporter, correspondent, news writer, or documentarian. Some may even go by more specific titles such as investigative reporter, political journalist, or crime reporter. Additionally, with the shift towards digital journalism, terms such as blogger, vlogger, and podcaster have also become applicable. Regardless of the title, the fundamental job of uncovering and reporting the news remains the same. As such, the synonym chosen often depends on the type of reporting being done and the platform on which it is presented.
