Officer Candidate School (OCS) is a military program designed to educate and train enlisted service personnel with the necessary skills and qualifications to eventually become an officer in the armed forces. The term OCS is often used within military circles, but there are many synonyms commonly used when referring to this type of program. Some of the most common include Officer Training School (OTS), Officer Candidate Course (OCC), Commissioned Officer Training (COT), and Candidate School (CS). Although the name may differ, all of these programs are designed to prepare individuals for the high-pressure and demanding role of a military officer.
