These words all suggest that someone is using language in a way that is meant to impress or dazzle their audience, rather than simply conveying information or expressing themselves clearly. While there is certainly a place for rhetorical flourishes in language, overuse of these devices can be alienating to a reader or listener, and can come across as insincere or inauthentic.
