Perun is a Slavic god of thunder, lightning, and war. Synonyms for Perun are hard to come by since there is no exact English equivalent of the deity. However, there are a few words that might be used interchangeably with the name of the god. These include Thor, the god of thunder in Norse mythology, Zeus, the god of thunder and lightning in Greek mythology, and Indra, the god of lightning and thunder in Hindu mythology. While these deities may share similar attributes with Perun, they do not have the same cultural significance or hold the same place in Slavic mythology.
