Perinatal depression is used to describe the term from the antenatal to postpartum period, while postnatal depression refers to the period after the delivery of a child. Postpartum blues is temporary sadness or anxiety experienced after childbirth. While these terms are interchangeable, they share similar symptoms, including; lack of interest in activities, sleep problems, changes in appetite, and feeling low.
