Regurgitating is the act of spewing or throwing up or retching. It often describes the involuntary action of vomiting. There are a number of synonyms for the word regurgitating that can be used in its place. These include disgorging, vomiting, puking, hurling, retching, upchucking, disgorging, heaving, spewing, expelling, and retching. Each of these words describes the physical act of throwing up or expelling stomach contents through the mouth. While these words are similar in meaning, they each carry a slightly different connotation and can be used to give different emphasis to the act of regurgitation.
