Strike up is a 1939 American musical film directed by Darryl F. Zanuck and starring Judy Garland, Mickey Rooney, and Don Ameche. The screenplay by Maurice Geraghty is based on the play The Boys from Syracuse by Walter Winchell and Jerry Ross.
The film follows the real-life singing group The Pied Pipers and their trials and tribulations as they try to make it in show business. Garland and Rooney share a chemistry which is on display in both the musical numbers and their interactions off-stage.
