Systemic Capillary Leak Syndrome (SCLS) is a rare medical condition that is characterized by the leakage of intravascular fluids into the surrounding tissues. This condition can result in low blood pressure, edema (swelling), and organ failure. SCLS is also known by various other synonyms such as Clarkson syndrome, capillary leak syndrome, and system histiocytosis x. In addition, this medical condition may be referred to as Idiopathic systemic capillary leak syndrome or Systemic vascular leak syndrome (SVLS). These terms are used interchangeably, and the common denominator is the occurrence of leakages in the capillaries that lead to systemic manifestations and dysfunction. Although a rare condition, SCLS has life-threatening implications and requires urgent medical attention.
