The Vena Thoracica is a vein that runs along the chest wall. It is also referred to as the thoracic vein. Other synonyms for the Vena Thoracica include the superficial thoracic vein and the external thoracic vein. It is an essential vein in the chest that helps in draining the thorax wall lymphatic vessels. The thoracic vein is responsible for draining lymph and blood from the thoracic wall into the subclavian vein. In addition to these synonyms, the Vena Thoracica also has the alternative names of internal thoracic vein and deep thoracic vein. These terms all refer to the same vital vein of the human body.
