Autarkical refers to a self-sufficient system, in which a country, society, or individual is able to provide for its own needs without external assistance. The antonymic concepts to "autarkical" are interdependence, connectivity, and globalization. With interdependence, societies and countries rely on each other for trade, knowledge transfer, and cooperation, recognizing that some goods, technology, or services are better acquired through cooperation, rather than self-sufficiency. Connectivity, on the other hand, refers to the ability of people and places to connect and communicate easily, breaking down barriers of space and time. Globalization refers to the trend of increasing economic and cultural integration of countries and societies around the world, facilitated by advancements in technology, transportation, and communication.
