Galvanic skin response refers to the measurement of electrical conductance of the skin as a response to psychological stimuli. It is commonly referred to as electrodermal activity (EDA) or skin conductance response (SCR). Additionally, it may also be referred to as psychogalvanic reflex, sympathetic skin response (SSR), or skin conductance level (SCL). These terms are often used interchangeably, though there are slight differences in their meanings and applications in various fields such as psychology, neuroscience, and medical research. Nonetheless, they all describe the same physiological response and are indicative of the level of emotional arousal or stress experienced by an individual.
