Gondwanaland, also known as Gondwana, was a supercontinent that existed during the Paleozoic and Mesozoic eras. It is often associated with the southern continents that once formed part of it, including Africa, South America, Antarctica, Australia, and the Indian subcontinent. There are several synonyms for Gondwanaland, including Gondwana landmass, Gondwana continent, Gondwana supercontinent, and Gondwanic land. These terms are often used interchangeably to describe the ancient landmass and its geological history. Although Gondwanaland no longer exists in its original form, its legacy can still be seen in the distribution of flora and fauna across the Southern Hemisphere.
