Miles per gallon, commonly abbreviated as MPG, is a term in the automotive industry used to measure the fuel efficiency of a vehicle. However, there are several other terms that can be used to describe this same concept. These include kilometers per liter (KPL), liters per 100 kilometers (L/100KM), and even gallons per 100 miles. Each of these terms serves the same purpose - to inform drivers of the distance their vehicle can travel on a given quantity of fuel. While MPG remains the most common term used in the United States, the global shift towards metric measurements may see other units gain popularity in the future.
