The Reestablishment Project was started in the spring of 2017 byCollin County Mayor Omar Balbarino and Collin County Commissioner Todd Wallace. The purpose of the Reestablishment Project is to help connect individuals who have been incarcerated and are now looking for opportunities and a path to re-establish themselves in society. The project offers a variety of services, such as job placement, education, and counseling.
In March of 2017, the Reestablishment Project announced the launch of its first cohort of participants. The cohort includes 32 men and women, who have all completed either jail or prison sentences.
