Tele-facsimile, commonly known as fax, has been the most popular method of transmitting documents for decades. However, with the advent of technology, the term has also evolved along with it, giving rise to new synonyms. Some of the other terms that could be used as a synonym for tele-facsimile are facsimile, fax transmission, fax machine, fax message, and telecopy machine. These synonyms have proved to be useful in conveying the same meaning in different ways.
