Gastrolobium is a name of genus of plants belonging to the family Fabaceae. These plants are mostly found in Australia and known for their bright coloured flowers. The word gastrolobium has no synonyms, however, there are common names for some of the species within the genus. These include the poisoned peas, the darlings, and the flannel flowers. The plant is toxic and has been known to cause death in livestock, as well as humans. Despite being toxic, these unique plants are still admired for their beauty, and efforts have been made to cultivate and preserve the various species in their native habitats.
