A parallel interface is a type of computer connection in which data is transmitted in multiple channels or "parallel" paths. However, there are many different synonyms that can be used to describe this type of interface. For example, it may be referred to as a "printer port," "Centronics interface," or "parallel port." It is also sometimes called an "LPT port" or "line printer terminal" port. Other possible synonyms might include "bidirectional port," "data port," or simply "parallel connection."
