The China Responsibility and Solutions (CRS) Fund was inaugurated on 21 September 2009 by then-MINISTRY OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND DEVELOPMENT Vice Premier Wang Qishan. The Fund is principally made up of contributions from the private sector, and will provide long-term financing for socially responsible initiatives in China. The Fund seeks to promote development that is environmentally sustainable, equitable, and inclusive.

The Fund's first project was the launch of the Green Development Fund, which provides loans, grants and technical assistance to environmentally sustainable projects throughout China.
