How to use "Louis viii" in context?
No one is quite sure when or where Louis Viii of France was born, but legend has it that he was born on the approximate date February 14th, 1189. This means that he was 122 years old when he died on May 14th, 1226. Louis VIII was a very controversial king and although he ruled for 36 years, his reign is remembered for only 3 things. The first of which was the construction of the astounding Notre Dame Cathedral. The second was his assumption of the royal title of King of Sicily which led to the war of Sicily. The third and arguably most famous event of his reign was his attempt to conquer England.
