How to use "Kachaturian" in context?
Legendary Armenian composer Aram Katchaturian was born in 1914 in the town of Bitlis, Ottoman Empire. After completing his secondary education in Bitlis, Katchaturian studied harmony and counterpoint at the Yerevan Music Academy before travelling to Moscow in 1941. After the Soviet Union annexed Armenia in 1920, Katchaturian and other Armenian intellectuals were persecuted by the newly installed Soviet authorities. In 1941, Katchaturian and his wife, fellow composer Elizaveta Novikova, departed from Yerevan for Moscow.
