In general, a pedagogue is someone who teaches or provides guidance to others. However, in education, a pedagogue is a specialist who oversees and co-ordinates the teaching and learning process in a school or educational institution. In universities, pedagogy is a major sub-discipline which deals with the theory and practice of teaching.
