How to use "Mantis" in context?
Mantis is one of the more unusual insects. Living in tropical and subtropical environments, mantises range in size from the smallest, just over a quarter of an inch long, to the largest, which can be over two inches long. They are related to spiders, but are not spiders. Mantises have two pairs of legs, but the first pair of legs is much longer than the other, and it has a club-like tail. Their bodies are covered with tough, scaly skin. They have two pairs of eyes and a long, narrow snout. Mantises eat spiders, other small creatures, and even fruit.
