How to use "Head up" in context?
Nearly all mammals are born with their head down. Even human babies are oriented this way, chin and chest thrust forward, in an attempt to avoid suffocation. For the first few weeks of life, the fetal head is constantly in motion as the head lurches from side to side. This motion, called "bucking," helps create the brain's functional map. head up, or "head down rule" favoring the fetal head position was proposed in 1977 by Harvey Karten, a professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
