Wingdings are a type of font which appear as a result of the font-bashing process. The font-bashing process is the practice of modifying a font file to make it look different, usually as a prank. Wingdings are a whimsical typeface that was designed in the early 1980s by Roger Peters and Dave Sharrow. Peters was working at Monotype at the time and Sharrow was working at Lucasfilm.
